Before joining the Mayor's Office of Recovery Programs, Alex worked as a CitiStat Analyst for OPI, using the “power of data” to improve city government service for Baltimore residents. His work involved harnessing available data to collect insights about city services and presenting that analysis to city leaders to inform decision-making. Before joining the city, Alex worked seasonally in the wine industry for four years, traveling between the northern and southern hemispheres for alternating harvests (by far the busiest time of year in winemaking). Alex's work included generating and analyzing data throughout the winemaking process, from vineyard to bottle.
Alex earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Medaille University in Buffalo and a Master’s in Public Relations and Communication from Leeds-Beckett University in Leeds, UK. He says, "Neither has anything to do with what I do now or did in wine."
